The Ranger baseball team saw their season come to an end Tuesday afternoon with a 12-6 loss to Moose Lake-Willow River in the opening round of the Section 7AA playoffs. C-I was the No. 8 seed and Moose Lake was the No. 9 seed.
The Rangers were able to do some good things offensively, but a big first inning by the Rebels was too much to overcome.
Nate Williams was 2-4 with an RBI triple in the game. Matt Christopher and Connor Zender also blasted a double each for the Rangers.
Johnathan Jacobson took the loss on the mound. He went one inning, allowing six earned runs and striking out one batter.
Matt Christopher came in for relief and pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs and struck out eight Rebel hitters.
The Rangers finish the season with an overall record of 10-10, a five win improvement from last year.
