The Ranger boys basketball team lost a tough one Thursday night, falling 66-64 to Detroit Lakes in double overtime.
Sam Jordan made a lay-up in the closing seconds of regulation to tie the game at 56 and lead to the first overtime.
Offense was at premium in both overtimes, with only 14 points being scored between the two teams in the extra sessions.
The Lakers hit a three-pointer with 2.0 to go that ended up being the winning basket.
Johnathan Jacobson and Joseph Stokman each scored 17 points for C-I in the loss. Cayden Turk added 11 points.
The loss drops the Rangers record to 3-2 in conference play and 12-3 overall. The Lakers currently lead the conference with a 5-0 record.
The team’s next game is Saturday vs. International Falls at home. Tip time is 2:30 for Varsity.
