The C-I boys’ basketball team picked up a big win on Friday night, beating Pequot Lakes 52-51 in thrilling fashion.
The Rangers trailed 51-49 late in the game when Joseph Stokman dished off to Dakota Mitchell who hit a three-pointer to put the Rangers up one with less than 10 seconds remaining. The Ranger defense held on strong on the final possession and they walked away with the one point victory.
Kyle Skeim led C-I in the scoring column with 14 points. Johnathan Jacobson chipped in 13 poits as well.
The win moves the team’s record to 14-3 on the year. They are 4-2 in conference action (2nd) and 7-2 in section play (currently 3rd).
Next up, the team travels to Grand Rapids on Tuesday and Park Rapids on Thursday this week.
